International Society of Hematology (ISH) is proud and privileged to announce the two distinguished ISH members who have received  Center for International Blood and Marrow Research (CIBMTR) Distinguished Service Award for their significant contributions to the field of hematopoietic stem cell transplantationin in Mexico as well as in Latin American countries. This prestigious award honors Professor Guillermo J. Ruiz- Arguilles, M.D., a past president and Chair-of-Council of ISH (2006 – 2010) and  Prof. David Gomez-Almaguer,M.D., Secretary – General of ISH – InterAmerican Division (ISH – IAD), since 2010.  The CIBMTR Distinguished Service Award was presented to these two outstanding hematologists  on February 24th 2017, at the BMT Tandem Meetings held in Orlando, Florida.

ISH appreciates and sincerely congratulates these two outstanding hematologists who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment  to the domain of stem cell transplantation.
