"The annual meeting of Japanese Society of Hematology was held on Dec. 11th to 13th, in Tokyo. Because the biggest typhoon ever in Japan attacked Tokyo, almost the entire programs of the second day were canceled. However, more than seven thousand hematologists attended and enjoyed the program including special lecture by Prof. Komatsu (congress president), Prof. Ohsumi (novel prize winner, autophagy) ,Prof. Izrael (representative of EHA), and JSH-ASH joint symposium. Kinuko Mitani and Ms. Izawa (Kinuko Mitani's secretary) run the booth of ISH.
